EQUIPMENT - VinylCycle®

Overview
Commercially proven technology separates polyvinyl chloride (PVC) from a mixed stream of whole or crushed plastic bottles of HDPE, PET and PVC.

Designed for high-speed unattended continuous duty at throughput rates of up to 10 bottles per second (VinylCycle20) or 6 bottles per second (VinylCycle12).

Application
The NRT VinylCycle system, manufactured by National Recovery Technologies, Inc. of Nashville, Tennessee, is a commercially proven technology separating polyvinyl chloride (PVC) from a mixed stream of whole or crushed plastic bottles of HDPE, PET and PVC. Developed with assistance from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Vinyl Institute and other industry sources, the NRT VinylCycle system is in commercial operation at various Fortune 500 companies, plastic processors and waste companies in the United States and throughout the world. The VinylCycle comes in two sizes depending on your needs: the VinylCycle20 for maximum throughput, and the smaller and more economical VinylCycle12.

Technology
A proprietary electromagnetic screening process enables the NRT VinylCycle system to separate vinyl containers from mixtures of whole or crushed post-consumer plastic containers at high speed with extraordinary accuracy. The presence of chlorine atoms within vinyl resins triggers a computer-timed air burst that separates vinyl containers from the mixed plastic stream. An exclusive operations monitoring system insures a continuous purity level of products from the system.

Loose, whole or crushed bottles are delivered to the NRT VinylCycle system input feeder by the user without concern for orientation or positioning of the bottles. The VinylCycle is designed for high-speed unattended continuous duty at throughput rates of up to 10 bottles per second (VinylCycle20) or 6 bottles per second (VinylCycle12).
