Overview
The DXRT™ is an advanced multiple energy x-ray sorting system designed to separate materials at high speed according to composition.
The rugged industrialized computing and sensing system features high reliability components and subsystems, built-in computerized diagnostics, and an advanced easy-to-use graphically driven touch screen operator interface.
Application
The DXRT™ is suitable for various sorting applications. Some typical applications are:
- Purifying polymers by the removal of flame retardant plastics and PVC
- Processing waste fuel streams such as automobile shredder residue
- Processing of mineral streams to separate from gangue
- Coal processing for reduction of ash
Technology
The DXRT™ sorting system uses a dry process incorporating a patented x- ray imaging technology that electronically probes the atomic makeup of presented materials. Each sample is rapidly sorted according to differences in relative atomic number, a unique characteristic of all elements. The DXRT™ sorting system uses proprietary high sensitivity algorithms to rapidly identify materials. The system precisely sorts among the materials at high efficiency and low product loss using NRT’s proven high speed precision air ejection technology.
